September 24, 2008 - Apartment Building Damaged by Late Morning Fire

Fire brought under control in less than 15 minutes

The Shreveport Fire Department responded to the Clear Horizon Apartments at 4305 Illinois Street this morning at 11:08 am. Upon arrival crews found one downstairs apartment (Building A, Apartment 1) with fire coming from two windows. Crews entered the apartment and extinguished the fire bringing it under control in less than 15 minutes. The apartment was not occupied at the time but there were other apartments in the same building that were occupied. The involved apartment was the only apartment that suffered fire damage and the other seven units in the building were damaged by smoke. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

There have been two 18 year old males arrested at this time for resisting an officer in connection with this fire. Their names are Roderick Ivory and Matthew Ware. They are presently being interviewed by Shreveport Fire Department Investigators for pending aggravated arson charges.
