September 10, 2008 - Shreveport Fire/Police Department September 11th Public Servant Remembrance Ceremony

Ceremony Begins at 10:00 am

The Shreveport Fire/Police Department will conduct a remembrance ceremony in recognition of the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Fire Chief Brian Crawford stated, “The remembrance of this tragic event that produced such a great loss of life to public servants and citizens can never be forgotten. The public servants who gave their lives to save so many made the greatest sacrifice and we honor them as public servants standing ready to protect and defend our citizens from that same threat that still remains with us today.”

The ceremony will take place beginning at 10:00 am at the Dallas W. Green Central Fire Station at 263 North Common Street in Shreveport. The following is an agenda for the ceremony:

    o 8:45 am All Station Flags lowered to half staff
    o 10:00 am City Official Remarks
    o 10:05 am Fire Chief Brian Crawford Remarks
    o 10:10 am Police Chief Henry Whitehorn Remarks
    o 10:15 am Moment of Silence by Fire Chaplain Durrell Tuberville
    o 10:16 am “Last Alarm” Ceremony by Fire Chaplain Durrell Tuberville
    o 10:30 am All Station Flags raised to full staff
