June 16, 2008 - Shreveport Firefighters’ Habitat for Humanity home to be dedicated

New home for needy family in Mooretown

Last month Shreveport Firefighters teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Louisiana to help construct a new home for a needy family in the city’s Mooretown neighborhood. Less than 30 days later the home is complete and ready to be dedicated and turned over to Carmen Nelson and family at the following ceremony:

This project was one of the largest volunteer projects ever undertaken by the fire department with more than 30 volunteers completing the project in only 16 work days. It was underwritten by a $25,000 grant from the Charles T. Beaird Foundation.
