Fire Department Receives $3,000 Wal Mart Grant for Fire Prevention Efforts

October is National Fire Prevention month and the Shreveport Fire Department just got a boost for their prevention efforts in the form of a $3,000 . . .

grant from Wal Mart. The grant, given each year by individual Wal Mart stores, came from local store number 278, located at 1645 E. Bert Kouns.

The Shreveport Fire Department’s fire prevention goal is to try and reduce the number of fire related injuries and deaths in our community through early detection and education. The grant money will be used to purchase equipment and materials to assist in teaching children and the general public about fire safety and injury prevention. ###
