Pedestrian Hit by Auto in Critical Condition

A sixty-year old man that was struck by an automobile as he walked along West 84^th Street this morning is in critical condition at LSUHSC. . .

Shreveport firefighters and paramedics responded to the incident on 84^th just east of Saint Vincent Avenue around 5:40 a.m. When crews arrived they found the man lying on the ground suffering from severe head and chest injuries. According to Fire Department Paramedic Richard Morrow, the man lost stopped breathing and lost a pulse on the scene. Fire fighters and paramedics worked feverishly at the scene and during transport to LSUHSC to revive the man. Thanks to their efforts, shortly after the crew reached the hospital, the patient regained a pulse and blood pressure. He was taken to surgery and is being treated in the hospital’s Surgery Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at this hour. ###
