Fire Investigators Arrest Shreveport Man for Apartment Arson

Shreveport Fire Department investigators have arrested a Shreveport man and charged him with arson following an overnight fire at a local apartment complex.

Arrested was Robert Williams, 42, of Shreveport after confessing to investigators that he had started a fire in his ex-girlfriend’s apartment at the Canaan Village Apartments, 1915 Patzman Street.

Firefighters received the first call reporting the fire at 12:17 a.m. this morning. It was listed as being under control 14 minutes later. Damage was estimated at $2,000. Fire officials said that no one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. Williams has been charged with simple arson which is a felony offense. The incident stemmed from am domestic dispute. ###
