Mobile Home Business Office Burns Overnight

The office of a Shreveport mobile home dealer burned overnight as firefighters took almost an hour to extinguish the stubborn blaze.

Fire crews first received the call reporting the fire at Forest Estates Mobile Home Sales, 9436 Mansfield Road, at 8:55 p.m. When the first crews arrived, they found the office, which was also a mobile home, inflamed on one side of the structure. Most of the fire appeared to be along one side the roof-line and upper truss of the office.

Once firefighters made their way inside of the building, they found most of the fire in the attic and were forced to attach additional sections of hose to their lines in order to reach the blaze. Fire crews were also sent to the roof to cut ventilation holes in the structure and gain a better vantage point of stopping the blaze from reaching the rest of the office. Officials listed the fire as being under control at 9:48. No one was present at the office at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Damage to the building was listed as heavy. Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire but have no early reports as to what might have caused the blaze.
