Shreveport Man Recovering from Burn Injuries

A Shreveport who received burns to over 20 percent of his body resulting from a grease fire yesterday afternoon is listed in fair condition this morning at LSUHSC’s Burn Treatment Center.

George Williams, 30, told fire investigators that he had attempted to extinguish a grease fire at his Town Oaks South apartment, 7800 Youree Drive, around 3:30 p.m. when the shirt he was wearing caught fire.

Williams was treated on-scene for first and second degree burns. Paramedics said Williams sustained burn injuries to his face, neck, both arms, chest, and back but none appeared to be life threatening. No other injuries were reported. ###
