Fire Department Announces Promotions and Retirement

Shreveport Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran is proud to announce the following promotions:

Captain Louis Johnson has been promoted to Assistant Chief of Training. Johnson, a 19 year department veteran, has been assigned to the Fire Training Academy for the last three years where he has served as a training officer. Among Johnson’s new duties include responsibility for coordinating emergency medical training and retraining for the department’s EMTs and paramedics.

Fire Driver Michael B. Lawson has been promoted to Captain. Lawson previously served on Truck 8 at the department’s Fair Grounds’ station. His new assignment is to a "swing" position on "C" shift where he will function as a company officer at various stations until a permanent assignment becomes available.

Retirement:

Captain Steve Lammons leaves the department after 28 years of dedicated service
