Shreveport Firefighter to be Named to National Burn Camp

at an11:30 a.m. press conference, Monday, September 10, in the chief’s office at Central Fire Station, 801 Crockett Street.

This year’s representative, Lisa Ivory, an 11-year department veteran firefighter, and 15-year-old burn survivor Cheoveon Beecham will represent the state later this month in Washington, D.C. at the National Burn Camp. Ivory, in her fifth year as a local burn camp counselor, was selected from a host of nominations, according to Boyd. Lisa was selected because of her "can-do" and caring attitude. "She is an extremely hard worker and is always there to lend a helping hand, whether it is at the camp with the children or during fund-raising events throughout the year," said Boyd.

"The Shreveport Fire Department is honored to have a representative selected from its ranks for this honor. Lisa is a glowing example of the outstanding young members represented in our organization," said Cochran.
