Hollywood Home Burns

■ Residence report seeing someone running form home before fire

Firefighters spent last night fighting a single story house fire in the Hollywood neighborhood of Shreveport that may have been arson related. Communications officers in the department’s 911 operation center received a call reporting the fire at 12:40 a.m. When fire crews arrived, the home was completely engulfed in flames.

Station 14 from Greenwood Road was the first engine on scene and immediately began attacking the fire with hose lines. It was determined that the house was not occupied and rescue efforts were suspended shortly after firefighters arrived. The home’s owner, Margie Fisher, 62, lived down the street at 3813 Denton and owned another home in the same block. Firefighters finally brought the fire under control at 1:00 a.m.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. Investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze and are following up on reports that someone was seen running from the property shortly before the fire erupted. ###
