Firefighters Battle Early Morning Arson Fire

Shreveport firefighters were called to 2715 Quinton Street this morning at 4:40 a.m. for the report of a house fire. When crews from the Department’s Fair Grounds station arrived at the address, they found flames and smoke coming from the back of the single story structure. The home was in the process of being remodeled and was vacant at the time of the fire.

A gasoline smell was evident when firefighters entered the Ingleside home. As they worked their way through the smokey structure, they were able to locate and isolate the fire to a back bedroom. The fire was brought under control 20 minutes later at 5:00 a.m. It was evident that a petroleum-based accelerant had been used to contribute to the fires progress.

Even though the home only suffered fire damage to the back portion of the residence, smoke damage was apparent throughout the structure. No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported.
