PRESS RELEASE: SHREVEPORT REGIONAL AIRPORT TO HAVE NEW LOOK

Airport Renovating Passenger Waiting Areas with new furniture, floor coverings

FOR RELEASE - July 24, 2003: Customers coming to Shreveport Regional Airport this week will notice some changes taking place.

The Shreveport Airport Authority is remodeling parts of the airport's customer waiting areas by changing out carpet, adding new furniture, planters and other amenities. Construction began this week and is expected to continue through August in the atrium and on the bridge connecting the terminal to the atrium.

The remodeling is the first major change made to the airport since a new terminal opened in November 1999, along with remodeled concourses and a completely renovated infrastructure. The project cost is nearly $140,000 with the work being handled by Endara Enterprises of Shreveport.

Part of the improvements include Internet accessible workstations available for passengers waiting to leave on flights and about 75 new chairs and other furniture.

"This is one of the final improvements the Shreveport Airport Authority wanted to make as part of the new terminal project," said Raymond Alley, Chairman of the Shreveport Airport Authority. "We wanted to get the new terminal open for business and see how it operated and functioned and then find the best possible options for our customers."

At the same time, the Shreveport Airport Authority is working with Interspace Airport Advertising to create a new look for the airport's advertising program. Interspace will begin the installation of the new advertising program by Friday, July 25.

"The Airport Authority's plan was to make these changes as we approached the debut of the new advertising program. In the coming weeks, customers will see a new look at the airport and I believe they will be pleased with the airport being even more customer friendly."

Interspace is a well-recognized name in the airport advertising industry and is known for bold and innovative airport advertising programs that often promote the community. In 26 years of business, Interspace has grown to handle over 170 airport programs throughout North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
