PRESS RELEASE: Delta Connection, Comair add new Cincinnati jet service

Making connections to more cities is becoming even easier from Shreveport Regional Airport.

Beginning Jan 31, 2003, Delta Air Lines will begin daily nonstop service to Cincinnati from Shreveport aboard Bombardier CRJ regional jets. The new schedule means Delta Connection provides service to three Delta Hubs from Shreveport.

The new schedule provides:

Delta Connection will introduce one nonstop flight to Cincinnati on Jan. 31, 2003, and expects to add a second flight by summer 2003.

"These service enhancements increase the number of jet flights offered at Shreveport by almost 30 percent. Our customers, especially business travelers, tell us that frequency of service and access to out worldwide network via our hubs are very important to them," said Subodh Karnik, Delta' senior vice president - Network and Revenue Management.

"The Shreveport Airport Authority is pleased to add Delta Connection carrier Comair with new direct service to Cincinnati," said the Rev. Joe R. Gant, Jl, Chairman of the Shreveport Airport Authority. "Cincinnati is one of the world's top rated airports for its convenience and its connections. This is a great addition for airport customers in the Ark-La-Tex."

With the new schedule, all flights at Shreveport will be Delta Connection flights, operated by Delta's wholly owned subsidiaries ASA and Comair. The customer-friendly CRJ aircraft offers passengers a two-by two seating configuration with no middle seats.

"Shreveport holds a special place in Delta's history as one of the cities served when Delta introduced passenger service in 1929, and the decision to change our service there to all Delta Connection flights was not made easily, " Karnik said. "The Delta Connection schedule better matches capacity to demand, while improving the nonstop service patterns for customers to our hubs."
