Police try to identify thief

Police need the public’s help in trying to identify a man captured on videotape.

The videotape shows the man taking money from a clerk’s purse at the Circle K store on Southfield Road on Aug. 11.

The suspect is a white male wearing a gray/light blue and white shirt and blue jeans. In the video, he can be seen raising his arms as if to stretch and then stretching over the counter and grabbing the money.
