All 3 bank robbery suspects in custody

Details of last Friday’s bank robbery are becoming clearer now that Shreveport police detectives have a third suspect in custody.

The third and final suspect, 36-year-old Frankie Willis of the 7700 block of Gibson Street, was caught hiding in an attic of a residence in the 1300 block of Elsa Jane. He is charged with armed robbery.

Ironically, the second suspect, 19-year-old Rickey Washington was captured over the weekend in the attic of his home in the 7600 block of Gideon. Washington is charged with principal to armed robbery, as is 18-year-old Michael Hodge.

Detective Lane Smith believes that Hodge and Willis both entered the bank armed with handguns and wearing ski masks. They got money and left the bank. They then got into a green Chevy Suburban in which Washington was the driver.

Hodge was captured after citizens reported some men acting suspiciously at the Spring Lake Apartments. Subsequent investigation led police to Washington and Willis.

While Hodge is currently charged with principal to armed robbery, the district attorney’s office will determine whether his charge should be upgraded to armed robbery for his alleged part in the crime.
