Name of woman found in alley released

The woman who was found in an alley near Pierre and Anna streets has been identified as Erma Sanders, 36, of Shreveport.

Her body was found lying just off the alley. An initial determination at the scene was that she had been dead for several hours before being found.

Sanders’ family has been notified of her death, and the coroner’s office is conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause.

The criminal investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Lane Smith at 673-6973 or 673-6955. Or they can call Crime Stoppers at 673-7000.
