Police release name of man killed in hit and run accident

Police are searching for the driver of a blue 2000 Hyundai Sonata that reportedly hit and killed 29-year-old Kendrick Smith of Shreveport.

The accident occurred Friday night at 11:35 p.m. in the 3800 block of Tate Street. Smith was riding a bicycle when he was hit by the car and dragged several feet. Smith was taken to LSU Hospital where he later died.

The vehicle was found Saturday night on Murvon Street, but a suspect has not been located.

If anyone has information regarding this hit and run accident, please call Crime Stoppers at 673-7000.
