Man dies after being shot in legs

A man taken to LSU Hospital after being shot several times in both legs died about an hour following the incident.

The victim, 26-year-old James Jackson of Shreveport, gave some information to officers before he died. He reported that three black males wanted his money and shot him after he said he didn’t have any.

The incident occurred about 2 a.m. in front of an apartment in the 4300 block of Illinois. It is unknown at this time whether Jackson died from his gunshot wounds or from a medical condition.

All three suspects are described to be in their early 20s, 5'6" to 5'7" tall, 170 to 175 pounds and dark complexion. Two of them had short black hair, while the third suspect was bald. One had a white striped shirt, another had a blue striped shirt and the third suspect was wearing a striped Polo shirt.
