Police arrest woman for stabbing

A domestic situation turned into an aggravated battery, after an upset ex-girlfriend stabbed her former boyfriend with a knife.

The incident occurred about 6 p.m. Monday in the 2600 block of Murray. Gerald Powell, age unknown, lives at the home where the stabbing occurred. He and Ida Lindsay, 37, of the 2700 block of Morningside, were arguing when she pulled a knife and stabbed Powell several times.

Powell was taken to LSU Hospital with non life-threatening wounds.

Lindsay was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of aggravated battery. The knife was recovered from her purse.
