Bear Huggs to visit SPD

In what could be the largest contingency of bears given by the organization, Bear Huggs will deliver about 570 bears to the Shreveport Police Department today.

The bears will be packaged in 190 bags that will be delivered to patrol officers just before 2 p.m. today.

The officers will receive their bears during roll call at 2 p.m. They will then load the bags in their vehicles to have ready in case a child they encounter at a crime scene or other call needs the comforting a stuffed animal can bring.
