Detectives investigate bank robbery

Police are looking for a white male suspect who robbed the Bancorp South bank branch inside Kroger food store in the 6600 block of Youree Drive on Monday evening.

The robbery occurred about 6:15 p.m. when the man walked up to the counter and told the teller to give him money. He did not show the teller a weapon, although the teller presumed he had one.

After getting money, the suspect walked calmly out of Kroger. It is unknown which direction he went after leaving the store.

The suspect is described as 50 to 60 years of age, about 6 feet tall, 170 pounds with facial hair and a ball cap. He was wearing a blue and white western shirt and blue jeans that were tucked into cowboy boots.
