Circus ticket inquiry comes to quick conclusion

The Shreveport Police Department has ended its inquiry into free circus tickets being accepted by officers during a PETA demonstration downtown.

Ten tickets, along with circus pamphlets, signs, posters, an animal cage and an animal stick were all turned into the Property Room following the arrest of three PETA demonstrators, including one who was topless.

The items were turned in, along with a report on the incident, which could be used as evidence during court proceedings of the ladies who were arrested.

The inquiry was launched early this morning after Police Chief Jim Roberts received information that officers were accepting free tickets.

"We are glad this came to a quick conclusion, and it appears that no officers were involved in any wrongdoing or unethical conduct," Roberts said.
