Man charged with giving false identification

A man charged with carjacking April 23 is in more trouble after giving police a false name.

The man told officers he was 19-year-old Jeremiah Poole, but he is really 23-year-old Marcus Randle. Randle also has given the name Sancho Rushing in the past.

Poole’s family said they have received calls from Poole’s friends inquiring about his arrest. They hope the alleged carjacker’s real identity is brought to light, as to clear Poole’s name.

Randle is charged with misrepresentation during booking, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated flight from an officer and carjacking.

Randle was arrested after Officer David R. Emberton chased him. He is accused of carjacking a 25-year-old woman’s Chevy Blazer at 4250 Greenwood Road. Several minutes later, Emberton observed the suspect and pursued him. He was apprehended in the 3000 block of Murphy Street.
