Juvenile arrested for having gun at school

A 14-year-old black male was taken into custody today after threatening another student with a gun at Linwood Middle School.

The 14-year-old student hid the gun inside a plastic grocery bag, which was stuffed inside his pocket. After school at 2:38 p.m., the boy showed the gun to a fellow student he had been having conflicts with. The boy then threatened to shoot the student if the problems between them continued.

After school security was notified, the 14 year old ran from the school. He was captured by security a short time later at Bernstein and 70th Street.

The juvenile will be booked into the Caddo Juvenile Detention center on charges of possession of a weapon on school grounds and aggravated assault for threatening the other student with the gun.
