Shreveport man arrested for Rutherford Street homicide

Police arrested a 23-year-old Shreveport man today on a charge of first-degree murder for the homicide of Ted Ramsey.

A Crime Stoppers tip led police to the location of Nathaniel King, who was arrested at a home in the 3800 block of Jackson Street. Police are searching for a second suspect in the case, but no details regarding the second suspect’s identity can be released at this time.

Ramsey’s body was discovered Friday morning after his sister went to his home in the 800 block of Rutherford Street to check on him. She was concerned for his welfare after he failed to call her the night before.

Ramsey was found with fatal wounds that are believed to have been caused by a knife and a blunt object. Robbery is the suspected motive at this time.

Police found evidence of a struggle inside the home, as well as a blood trail leading from the house. Investigators spent most of day Friday combing the crime scene for evidence that ultimately led police to King.
