Two sought in separate cases of cashing insurance checks

Police are looking for two people involved in the cashing of insurance money that did not belong to them.

The first case involves Quinn O. Johnson, 33, of Shreveport. Johnson allegedly took money that belonged to Libbey Glass Federal Credit Union by endorsing an insurance claim check that was made payable to himself and the credit union.

The $2,213 check was insurance money for a wrecked vehicle. Johnson reportedly endorsed the check with a rubber Libby Glass stamp and cashed it, thereby defrauding the credit union which held the lien on the vehicle.

The second case involves a stolen storm claim check that was cashed for $3,500. Police are looking for Jacqueline Jackson, 38, of Shreveport. She is accused obtaining a blank State Farm Insurance check and presenting it for cash at Bank One, 150 Freestate Blvd.

The check was to be used by an insurance adjuster who was in town to assist with storm claims in May, 2000.
