Employee arrested for stealing employee vacation pay

Shreveport police arrested a former employee of Beaird Industries today on a charge of felony theft after the woman allegedly cashed $32,407 in checks that were written for employees’ vacation and sick time.

Linda Diana Whitehurst, 44, of Shreveport is accused of requesting checks to cover other Beaird employees’ vacation and sick time. Instead of distributing the checks, Whitehurst reportedly cashed them.

The report was made in February, but the incidents occurred in early 2000.
