Dallas police help catch Shreveport robbery suspects

Officers with the Dallas Police Department assisted the Shreveport Police Department in apprehending two fugitives from Shreveport this morning.

April Wright, 29, of Bossier City and Joyce McKenzie, 38, of Shreveport are wanted for

two robbery cases that occurred in January.

Both face charges of first-degree robbery after they handcuffed a woman at the Holy Cross Child Placement Agency and forced her to write a $10,000 check on Jan. 24. The two suspects then took the woman’s car, which was located in an alley in the 2900 block of Frederick Street.

Wright and McKenzie also will be charged with attempted first degree robbery after attempting to rob the Citgo station at 8955 Mansfield Road on Jan. 13.

The pair was arrested by Dallas Police after working with Shreveport officers. They will be returned to Shreveport to face the charges, but exactly when has not yet been determined.
