Police arrest armed robbery suspect; look for witnesses

Members of the armed robbery task force nabbed another armed robbery suspect today.

Demetrius McKenney, 24, of Shreveport was arrested for the armed robbery that occurred at Thrifty Liquor, 8400 Linwood, on Nov. 8.

McKenney had five other warrants for his arrest – three for simple battery in Shreveport and two separate bench warrants for issuing worthless checks and simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling in Caddo Parish.

McKenney was arrested by Cpls. Paul Rambin and Jody Jones this afternoon as he and his wife walked along the 700 block of 69th Street.

In other news, police are looking for two customers who reportedly were in the Family Dollar store at 3730 Lakeshore Drive Saturday morning when the store was robbed by two black males.

They are believed to be witnesses to the crime and could provide police information that would be helpful in investigating the case.
