Police continue investigating armed robberies

Three people arrested for carjacking an elderly couple have now been charged with three more related crimes.

Detectives have charged Debra Clements, 29, of the 3700 block of Roy Road in Caddo Parish with four counts of principal to armed robbery, while Antonio Washington, 20, of Shreveport is charged with four counts of armed robbery. Antonio’s brother, 18-year-old Lamar Washington of Shreveport, also will be charged with four counts of armed robbery.

The additional charges close four elderly couple carjacking cases that occurred in November and December. All four vehicles were recovered.

Police believe these suspects are involved in a criminal ring that has committed numerous armed robberies in the area.

While the department is pleased the carjacking cases are closed, detectives need the public’s help in locating 18-year-old Deandre Lias of Shreveport. Police want to question Lias about recent armed robberies that have occurred in Shreveport.

Anyone with information about Lias’ whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 673-7000.
