COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY OF SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA

The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Shreveport, State of Louisiana was called to order by Vice Chairman Roy Allen Burrell at 3:09 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2002, in the Government Chambers, on the First floor of Government Plaza at 505 Travis Street, Shreveport, LA. Present: Councilmen P. Huckaby, Carmody, Serio, Spigener, Shyne, and Burrell. 6. Absent: Councilman Stewart. 1. Also present were Mayor Keith Hightower, Chief Administrative Officer Ken Antee, Assistant CAO Tom Dark, W. Charles Walsh, President of North Webster Medical Services and Claudius Whitmeyer, Attorney for North Webster Medical Services.

The purpose of the meeting was to hear an appeal of the decision by the Chief Administrative Officer to deny the Class A license for non emergency medical services of North Webster Medical Services, 114 West Church Street, Springhill, Louisiana.

After a presentation from the CAO (and comments by the Mayor) who denied the Class A Non-Emergency License under Section 49-69 and other applicable provisions in the Code of Ordinances of the City of Shreveport; and from Claudius Whitmeyer who presented arguments in opposition to the CAO's decision, the City Council, by a vote of 6-0, upheld the decision of the CAO, and denied the application of North Webster Medical Service for the Class A License.

The meeting adjourned at 4:30 p. m.
