CITY COUNCIL

ADMINISTRATIVE CONFERENCE OF

MAY 7, 2001

The Administrative Conference of the City Council of the City of Shreveport, State of Louisiana, was called to order by Chairman Joe Shyne, at 3:15 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2001, in the Government Chambers in Government Plaza (505 Travis Street).

Invocation was given by Councilman Carmody.

On Roll Call, the following members were Present: Councilmen Huckaby, Stewart, Carmody, Serio, Spigener, Shyne and Burrell. 7. Absent: None.

46 Making application to the State Bond Commission and the Louisiana Dept. of Environmental Quality for approval of the issuance by the City of Shreveport of not to exceed Seventy Million Dollars ($70,000,000) aggregate principal amount of Sewer Revenue Bonds, Series 2001, in one or more series, for the purpose of financing the cost of the construction, improvement and expansion of the sewerage system including sewerage treatment and sewerage disposal works in the City; authorizing the Mayor to execute certain applications and documents.

47 Authorizing the Mayor to make application with the United States Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs. (Highland/Stoner and Queensborough/Ingleside Weed and Seed sites)

48 Authorizing a contract between the City of Shreveport and the Independence Bowl Foundation, Inc. relative to the production of the Independence Bowl and related activities.

50 Adopting the System and Compliance Questionnaire for the City of S’port.

51 Approving the budget for the Caddo Sales and Use Tax Commission for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001.

* 92 Levying various taxes totaling 20.76 mills per dollar on all property subject to ad valorem taxation within the City of Shreveport for the year 2001.

∙ 93 Levying a tax of 30.54 mills per dollar on all property subject to ad valorem taxation within the City of Shreveport for the year 2001 for the purpose of paying principal and interest on the outstanding General Obligation Bonds of the City.
