ADMINISTRATIVE CONFERENCE OF

APRIL 23, 2001

The Administrative Conference of the City Council of the City of Shreveport, State of Louisiana, was called to order by Chairman Joe Shyne, at 3:16 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2001, in the Government Chambers in Government Plaza (505 Travis Street).

Invocation was given by Reverend Pastor Carradine.

On Roll Call, the following members were Present: Councilmen Huckaby (arrived at 3:25), Carmody, Serio (arrived at 3:20) Spigener, Shyne and Burrell. 6. Absent: Councilman Stewart. 1.

          38 Authorizing the Mayor to execute grant documents with the U. S. Dept. of Justice (bulletproof vests).

          39 Authorizing the Mayor to make application with the LA Commission on Law Enforcement (Domestic Violence Assistance Program)

          41 Temporarily suspending certain provisions of Chapter 10 and Chapter 106 of the Code of Ordinances relative to the sale of alcoholic beverages at certain special events.

          42 Authorizing the Mayor to execute an amendment to the July 10, 2000 agreement with the Shreveport Redevelopment Agency.

          45 Suspending the effects of certain provisions of Chapter 10 relative to alcoholic beverages and Chapter 106 relative to zoning for the Cub Lounge located at 3002 Girard Street for two separate events.

INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTIONS (not to be adopted prior to May 8):

          46 Making application to the State Bond Commission and the Louisiana Dept. of Environmental Quality for approval of the issuance by the City of Shreveport of not to exceed Seventy Million Dollars ($70,000,000) aggregate principal amount of Sewer Revenue Bonds, Series 2001, in one or more series, for the purpose of financing the cost of the construction, improvement and expansion of the sewerage system including sewerage treatment and sewerage disposal works in the City; authorizing the Mayor to execute certain applications and documents.

          47 Authorizing the Mayor to make application with the United States Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs. (Highland/Stoner and Queensborough/Ingleside Weed and Seed sites)

    ✶ 48 Authorizing a contract between the City of Shreveport and the Independence Bowl Foundation, Inc. relative to the production of the Independence Bowl and related activities.
