Tutorial Program

Purpose/Goal
To provide a safe haven for youth to focus on education, positive recreation and life skills. To ensure Shreveport youth are academically prepared and “No child is left behind.” There are "No Fees" for this program.

ELA/Social Studies
Arts
Science
Reading
Writing
Test Preparation/Test Taking

Grades: 3-8 – These are the critical targets for state testing. Instead of the IOWA for testing, the testing has been changed to Integrated LEAP, which is more detailed than IOWA. (I-LEAP) – Grades are 3, 5, 6, and 7. The 4th and 8th grades are LEAP testing.

Classes
Monday – Friday
3:00 pm – 6:00 pm (year round)

*Extended hours on school holidays and breaks*

Ages 6 - 11 are eligible

In addition to the After School Tutorial program in designated Community Centers, each community center has an After School Program which offers a safe environment, homework assistance, test preparation assistance, health/nutrition, cultural enrichment, music, games, dance, fine arts, field trips and monthly themes.
