1. Do I have to be a Sponsor in order to be a Team Member?

No. You can be either one or the other. Its not required to be both. However, we encourage our Sponsors to be Team participants.

2. What if I get Hurt while painting? Does the City pay for my medical expenses?

ALL Volunteers, as well as homeowners, are required to sign a Hold Harmless Indemnity Agreement prior to Paint Day, which relieves the City of Shreveport of any liability

3. Will I get paid for being a Team member?

No. This is strictly a volunteer program. However, volunteers are rewarded by receiving a t-shirt for the efforts. Also, we have an Appreciation Party the evening of Paint Day where the teams are recognized and free food, live entertainment and door prizes.

4. Who’s responsible for team members’ lunches?

The team can designate one person from the team to leave the site and pick up lunch for the team. Teams my also bring sack lunches or grill on-site. Lunch is at the discretion of the team.

5. How long do volunteers have for lunch?

At least one hour should be designated for eating lunch. It is our goal that all teams complete their houses by 4:00 PM.

6. I can only participate for 2 hours. Can I still be a part of a team?

Yes, you can inform you tram captain about the amount of time you can volunteer. In the past some teams have had shifts of workers. It is at the discretion of the team captain.

7. As a sponsor, can I donate paint or supplies instead of money?

Yes, you can make an in-kind donation of paint or supplies and still be listed on the T-shirts, and pre-and post-event signage.

8. I’m a team member, where do I pick up my T-shirt?

The T-shirts are bagged and with the supplies to be picked up by the Team Captain on Paint Day. The number of shirts are bagged according to the hold-harmless agreements that are submitted by the deadline. If we do not have a hold-harmless agreement for you, you will have to wait for your t-shirt.

9. Where and When do we pick up supplies?

Supplies are picked up on paint day. The time of your pick up depends on your team number. The supplies will be bundled for pick up at the Command Center, which is the CenterPoint Energy Warehouse at 2424 Levy St. (Command Center Map).

10. Where is the Appreciation Party? Can I bring family members to the Party?

The Appreciation Party will be held at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport at 5:30 PM on paint day. Please limit the number of people that you bring to 3, because there is a limited amount of food and drink.
