Shreveport Police to host "Bicycle Rodeo"

The Shreveport Police Department will be hosting a "Bicycle Rodeo" Saturday, October 12^th. The rodeo will be held at the Portico Shopping Center, located at 7925 Youree Dr. and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The objective of the rodeo is to teach parents and kids bicycle safety as endorsed by the National Highway Safety Administration and the Shreveport Police Department. A donation of $5.00 will entitle each child to receive hands on training, bicycle inspection, hand signal instruction, bicycle rules, a personally fitted helmet, and a chance to win a new bicycle. Upon completion of a safety riding course, each child will receive a certificate acknowledging their accomplishment.
