A Message from the Chief of Police
The Shreveport Police
Department is a customer service oriented agency dedicated to serving
and protecting the citizens of Shreveport, Louisiana. Our mission is to
provide outstanding police services by working in partnership with the community
and to maintain a safe environment that contributes to the quality of life
for all citizens in the Shreveport area.
Cooperation between the department, the City of Shreveport and the community at large
makes Shreveport a dynamic, diverse and exciting place.
The Shreveport Police Department handles more than 250,000 calls for service
each year. Roughly 575 sworn police officers are employed, handling
everything from patrol to investigations to traffic enforcement.
The City of Shreveport,
known by many as the home of the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl, plays host to dozens of fairs,
festivals and parades each year. The department works hard to ensure that
visitors, as well as residents, have a fun and safe time at all of these
events.
The Shreveport Police Department
takes fighting crime seriously. The dedicated men and women of the Shreveport Police Department
are truly committed to improving the quality of life in our city and are
