PURPOSE
To create and establish the intersection of Blom Boulevard and Crabapple Drive as a four way stop intersection under the authority of Section 13.05 (c) of the Charter of the City of Shreveport, 1978.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This ordinance was prepared at the request of Councilman Webb. Crabapple Drive is a designated through street and a major collector for the area. There has only been one accident at this intersection in the past twelve months. The only requests Traffic Engineering Division has received at this location involve speeding. Given the distance between Kingston Road and Baird Road, speeds are unlikely to be lowered from an unwarranted stop sign. In the interest of public safety, Traffic Engineering Division does not recommend this course of action.

AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE AND ESTABLISH THE

INTERSECTION OF BLOM BOULEVARD AND CRABAPPLE

DRIVE AS A FOUR WAY STOP INTERSECTION AND

TO OTHERWISE PROVIDE WITH RESPECT THERETO.

BY:

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Shreveport in

legal and regular session convened to create and establish the intersection of Blom

Boulevard and Crabapple Drive as a four way stop intersection requiring that all traffic

and vehicles approaching this intersection shall come to a full stop before entering the

intersection.

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that if any provision or item of this ordinance or

the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions, items or

applications of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provisions, items or

applications and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared severable.

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that all ordinances or resolutions or parts

thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
