To adjust funds within the 2009 Community Development budget, based on revised estimates of available grant funding.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This ordinance increases total appropriations for 2009 by $1,659,200. This ordinance allocates the State funded Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program funds of $1,629,200 and Southern University Ledbetter Heights Grant of $30,000.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2009 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIAL REVENUE FUND BUDGET AND TO OTHERWISE PROVIDE WITH RESPECT THERETO

BY:

WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary to amend the 2009 budget for the Community Development Special Revenue Fund, to adjust appropriations, reflect current revenue estimates and for other purposes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Shreveport, in due, legal, and regular session convened, that Ordinance Number 133 of 2008, the 2009 budget for the Community Development Special Revenue Fund, is hereby amended as follows:

In Section 1 (Estimated Receipts):

Under “2009 Current Year Funds”:

    Increase State Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program by $1,629,200.

    Increase Ledbetter Heights Grant by $30,000.

In Section 2 (Appropriations):

Under “2009 Year Funds”:

    Increase State Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program by $1,588,500.

    Increase Administration by $70,700.

Adjust totals and subtotals accordingly.

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that if any provision or item of this ordinance or the application thereof shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions, items or applications of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provisions, items or applications; and, to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that all ordinances or portions thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
