The City has received applications from persons wishing to purchase certain adjudicated properties. The City will hold an auction for the sale of the properties to the highest bidder, all as provided for in R.S. 47:2201-2211. Section 26-300 of the Code of Resolutions authorizes the Mayor to execute the deed transferring the city’s interest in a property after the City Council has declared the property surplus and that the appropriate procedure has been followed. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT/PROPERTY STANDARDS HAS REVIEWED THE PROPERTIES PROPOSED FOR BEING DECLARED SURPLUS AND NO DEMOLITION ORDERS EXIST ON THE PROPERTIES .

RESOLUTION NO. ______ OF 2009
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CITY’S INTEREST IN CERTAIN ADJUDICATED PROPERTIES AS SURPLUS AND OTHERWISE PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.
WHEREAS, the City of Shreveport, has a tax interest in the herein below described property which has been adjudicated for the non-payment of City property taxes; and
WHEREAS, the herein below described property is not needed for public purposes and should be declared surplus property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Shreveport has received an offer to purchase the tax interest in the herein below described property as indicated below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shreveport in due, regular and legal session convened, that the property described below is hereby declared surplus.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Shreveport does hereby authorize the sale of its tax interest in the herein below described property for an amount not less than the offer as indicated below.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all ordinances or resolutions or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
